General James E. Cartwright, a retired U.S. Marine Corps general, serves as a strategic advisor to Latent AI. With a distinguished 40-year career, he held high-ranking positions including Commander of U.S. Strategic Command and Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. General Cartwright lends his expertise in strategic deterrence, nuclear proliferation, and cybersecurity, as well as his experience leading large organizations.

Dave Bassett

Lieutenant General (Retired) David G. Bassett is a seasoned military leader with over 35 years of service. His most recent role was as Director of the Defense Contract Management Agency, overseeing a vast network of contracts. Previously, he led the Army Program Executive Offices for Command, Control and Communications-Tactical and Ground Combat Systems, overseeing critical modernization efforts for the Army’s tactical network and combat vehicle fleet. Bassett brings in-depth expertise in acquisition, leadership, and technology.

Jack Shanahan

Lieutenant General John (Jack) N.T. Shanahan (USAF, Ret.) is an accomplished military leader with a distinguished 36-year career in the U.S. Air Force. Jack served in a variety of operational and staff positions in various fields including flying, intelligence, policy, and command and control. He commanded at the squadron, group, wing, Agency, and Numbered Air Force levels. As the inaugural Director of both Project Maven and the DoD Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC), he spearheaded the DoD’s adoption of AI technologies. Jack serves on a variety of AI-related committees, boards, and advisory groups, and as a consultant on the use of AI-enabled technologies for national security. He shares his deep understanding of AI, operations, intelligence, and command and control.

Doug Small

Strategic Advisor

Rear Admiral (Retired) Doug Small is a distinguished naval officer with a strong background in engineering and acquisition. He has held leadership positions in various naval organizations, including the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems and the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command. Small provides his insights on naval warfare, technology, and leadership.
